Wideband patch antennas for mobile communications

AEU - International Journal of Electronics and Communications, 2006
Abstract This paper describes a new technique for bandwidth enhancement of microstrip patch antennas. An electromagnetically coupled (EMC) feeding structure was employed to increase the bandwidth. L-strip feeding rectangular and triangular patches were simulated and tested.

A Wideband Patch Antenna for 5G

2020 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and North American Radio Science Meeting, 2020
Wide bandwidth requirement is one of the main challenging issues in 5G antenna technology. To satisfy this, a stacked low-profile patch antenna is proposed. The design has been optimized via an optimization tool based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) integrated with the finite integration technique (FIT).

Wideband triangular patch antenna

IEE Proceedings - Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, 1999
A wideband single layer triangular patch antenna fed by an L-shaped probe is proposed. It achieves 42% impedance bandwidth (SWR/spl les/2) and a maximum gain of 6 dBi. A foam layer of thickness /spl sim/10% of the operating wavelength is used as the supporting substrate. The radiation pattern is stable across the passband.

Wideband patch dipole antenna

2005 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2005
A novel wideband patch dipole antenna is proposed and simulated by Ansoft HFSS. Calculated results show that the relative bandwidth can reach 66.7% with VSWR less than 2. A model antenna is fabricated with microstrip structure. Good agreement is achieved between experimental and simulated results.

A wideband circular patch antenna

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2000
A new design of a circular patch antenna with an impedance bandwidth greater than 25% and a peak antenna gain about 8.3 dBi is presented. The circular patch antenna has a thick air substrate, and a pair of wide slits are cut in the circular patch to facilitate the antenna's impedance matching. The circular patch is supported by a conducting post, which

A new wideband rectangular patch antenna

1998 IEEE-APS Conference on Antennas and Propagation for Wireless Communications (Cat. No.98EX184), 2002
A novel design for increasing the bandwidth of a rectangular patch antenna is introduced and implemented. The design concept involves terminating a suitable point of the patch with an appropriately designed stub. This stub simultaneously acts as a short circuit and impedance thereby creating two close resonances. This new design is very useful since it
