Scale of Alopecia Areata Distress (SAAD‐41): Initial Validation Part 2—Scoring, Preliminary Reference Values and Validity

The SAAD‐41 is a 41‐item scale developed to comprehensively assess Alopecia Areata psychosocial patient‐reported outcomes. Results support scoring the scale at the subdomain level and provisionally at the total‐score level. The total‐score can be calculated as a sum of the 41 SAAD items, with the sum referred to as the SAAD‐41‐Total.
