Inverse Problem on the Steiner Wiener Index

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae Graph Theory, 2018
The Wiener index W(G) of a connected graph G, introduced by Wiener in 1947, is defined as W(G) =∑u,v∈V (G) dG(u, v), where dG(u, v) is the distance (the length a shortest path) between the vertices u and v in G.

Performance of AM fungi in peat substrates in greenhouse and field studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The impacts of peat on mycorrhizal traits has been studied in several field and greenhouse experiments at MTT Agrifood Research Finland In the field experiments, AMF traits were affected by cropping systems and preceding crops but also by peat amendment.

Topological Point Defects in SmC* Liquid Crystals Under Mechanical Disturbance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Tangetial air jet shear inducess island formation and nucleates topological point defects in uniform SmC films. Island bounded by edge dislocation loops shrink and transform into isolated point defects under continued shear. Mechanical perturbatio provides a controllable route for defect engineering in smectric liquid crystal thin films.

Gold Nanorods in Cardiac Millitissues: Assessing Mechanical and Contractile Dynamics in a Living Engineering Myocardium Model

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel platform for assessing the active mechanical behavior of living cardiac microbundles through localized nanoindentation, integrated with temperature regulation and dual‐camera imaging systems. The developed system enables quantitative evaluation of dynamic micromechanics in engineered cardiac tissues in vitro, offering ...

On the Randi\'{c} index and conditional parameters of a graph [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The aim of this paper is to study some parameters of simple graphs related with the degree of the vertices. So, our main tool is the $n\times n$ matrix ${\cal A}$ whose ($i,j$)-entry is $$ a_{ij}= \left\lbrace \begin{array}{ll} \frac{1}{\sqrt{\delta_i ...

Additively Manufactured Porous Ceramics as Tunable Dielectrics for Passive Temperature Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Porous ceramic lattices, 3D‐printed from a multicomponent oxide ink, are integrated with LC resonators for passive wireless temperature sensing. By tuning porosity, the dielectric properties and RF response are engineered to produce distinct resonant frequency shifts with temperature. The results establish a structure‐driven approach to customizing the

Steiner Wiener index of block graphs

open access: yesAKCE International Journal of Graphs and Combinatorics, 2020
Let S be a set of vertices of a connected graph G. The Steiner distance of S is the minimum size of a connected subgraph of G containing all the vertices of S.

Tunable Applicator for Microneedle‐Based Medical Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This paper presents a simple, low‐cost tunable applicator (TAPP) for microneedle array patches that uses a material‐agnostic controlled‐fracture mechanism to ensure reliable skin penetration and uniform array engagement. The scalable, modular design is compatible with injection molding and 3D printing, can be integrated directly into patches, and is ...

Selective Reflection of Chiral Ferroelectric Nematic Liquid Crystals Tuned by Electric Field Along the Helix Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
It is demonstrated that in chiral ferroelectric nematic liquid crystals sandwiched between electrically conducting transparent plates, the reflection color can be reversibly tuned by electric fields applied along the helix axis. The proposed theoretical model, assuming field‐induced coiling of the helix axis, accounts for all observations.

Wiener Index of Edge Thorny Graphs of Catacondensed Benzenoids

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
The Wiener index is a topological index of a molecular graph, defined as the sum of distances between all pairs of its vertices. Benzenoid graphs include molecular graphs of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
