British Veterinary Journal, 1967SUMMARY The occurrence of Salmonella typhimurium, Salmonella gallinarum and Salmonella pullorum in free-living wild birds is reviewed. Four outbreaks of S. typhimurium infection are described, and the epidemiology discussed.

Pasteurellosis in Wild Birds in Massachusetts
Avian Diseases, 1967Epizootics in wild birds have not received adequate attention, a factor which accounts for our lack of knowledge on the natural distribution of some pathogens. Native birds appear to be an important reservoir of Pasteurella multocida. Sporadic or epizootic outbreaks of pasteurellosis in wild birds have been recorded over the past 30 years.
