Kampilobakterioza je od 2005. godine najčešće prijavljivana zoonoza kod ljudi u Europskoj uniji, a uzrokovana je najčešće termotolerantnim bakterijskim vrstama Campylobacter jejuni i C. coli, te sporadično C. lari.
