Situating Black Reconstruction in the Du Boisian Tradition

open access: yesSociological Forum, Volume 41, Issue 1, Page 26-31, March 2026.
ABSTRACT In this paper, I develop a contradictory argument about Black Reconstruction. First, I argue that Black Reconstruction certainly is a masterpiece, and indeed, perhaps one of Du Bois's greatest works. Second, however, I argue that we ought to view Black Reconstruction in the context of Du Bois's overall corpus of scholarship.

The pyrogenic mediator prostaglandin E2 elicits warmth seeking via EP3 receptor‐expressing parabrachial neurons: a potential mechanism of chills

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 604, Issue 5, Page 2110-2130, 1 March 2026.
Abstract figure legend During infection, prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) is produced and elicits warmth‐seeking behaviour and involuntary febrile responses by acting on prostaglandin EP3 receptors (EP3Rs) in two distinct brain sites. PGE2 acting on EP3Rs on neurons in the external lateral part of the lateral parabrachial nucleus (LPBel) augments cold sensory ...

Recent Increasing Trend in October–November Caribbean Tropical Cyclone Activity

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 4, 28 February 2026.
Abstract October–November Caribbean tropical cyclone (TC) activity has significant impacts for both the Caribbean islands and Central America (e.g., Hurricanes Eta and Iota in 2020). October–November Caribbean TCs can also track northward and make continental United States landfall, resulting in substantial damage and fatalities (e.g., Hurricane ...
