Integrative Transcriptomic Profiling of the Wilms Tumor

open access: yes, 2023
Our study aimed to identify relevant transcriptomic biomarkers for the Wilms tumor, the most common pediatric kidney cancer, independent of the histological type and stage.

Epigenetic Regulation in the Pathogenesis of Renal Inflammation: Insights and Therapeutic Potentials

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Renal inflammation is a common pathological process in various kidney diseases, often initiated by factors such as toxins, ischemia, or autoimmune reactions. This inflammatory response can result in structural damage and a rapid decline in renal function.

The Enteric Nervous System: An Integrative Hub From Development to Systemic Physiology

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Zoology Part A: Ecological and Integrative Physiology, EarlyView.
Unlike a static hardwired circuit, the ENS continuously remodels its transcriptional programs and synaptic connectivity in response to three ecological forces: microbial metabolites, immune cell signals and enteroendocrine cues. ABSTRACT The enteric nervous system (ENS) constitutes the largest and most functionally autonomous subdivision of the ...

Case Report: Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease and Wilms’ tumor in infancy and childhood

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics
BackgroundAutosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) is rare but one of the most common inherited kidney diseases. Normal kidney function is maintained until adulthood in most patients.

A Pathologic Link between Wilms Tumor Suppressor Gene, WT1, and IFI16

open access: yesNeoplasia: An International Journal for Oncology Research, 2008
The Wilms tumor gene (WT1) is mutated or deleted in patients with heredofamilial syndromes associated with the development of Wilms tumors, but is infrequently mutated in sporadic Wilms tumors.

ZFP36L1 Enhances Microglial Ferroptosis in Ischemic Stroke by Reducing FTO‐Mediated N6‐Methyladenosine Demethylation of ACSL1 mRNA

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microglia play an important role in ischemic stroke (IS). However, the molecular regulatory mechanisms underlying microglial ferroptosis in IS remain incompletely understood. In this study, blood samples were collected from 20 IS patients and 15 healthy volunteers.

LMO family gene polymorphisms and Wilms tumor susceptibility in Chinese children: a five-center case-control study

open access: yesBMC Cancer
Background Wilms tumor is the most prevalent embryonal kidney malignancy in children worldwide. Previous genome-wide association study (GWAS) identified that LIM domain only 1 (LMO1) gene polymorphisms affected the susceptibility to develop certain tumor

Mapping the Knowledge Structure and Thematic Trends of Wilms Tumor: Insights From Text Mining

open access: yesOrgan Medicine, EarlyView.
This scientometric analysis of Wilms tumor research from 1945 to 2024 highlights United States research leadership, limited international collaboration, and emerging hotspots in biomarkers, nephron‐sparing surgery, and immunotherapy. ABSTRACT Background Wilms tumor (WT), also known as nephroblastoma, is one of the most common renal malignancies in ...

Evaluation of Metanephrine and Lactate Dehydrogenase in Pediatric Wilms Tumor and Neuroblastom

open access: yesمجلة كلية الطب
Background: Wilms' tumor and Neuroblastoma are common pediatric malignancies, with biochemical markers like plasma metanephrines and serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) being studied for diagnostic and prognostic values.

MicroRNA‐130a‐3p Targets the Androgen‐Related Transcription Factor MAFB: Effects on Proliferation, Migration, Apoptosis, and Cell Cycle in Hypospadias

open access: yesPediatric Discovery, EarlyView.
MicroRNA‐130a‐3p targets and inhibits MAFB expression, leading to the development of hypospadimas. MicroRNA‐130a‐3p inhibits the expression of MAFB, disrupts the normal processes of cell proliferation, migration, cell apoptosis, and cycle progression, and ultimately leads to the development of hypospadias.
