Modeling of wind energy conversion system using PSCAD/EMTDC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This paper aims to model a complete wind energy conversion system (WECS) connected to a grid. The motivation comes from the Distributed Generation System (DGS) installed at the Renewable Energy Lab at UMass Lowell.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Robust Power Designing of Supplementary Damping Controller in VSC HVDC System to Improve Energy Conversion Efficiency of Wind Turbine and Power System Stability

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2022
Because of low losses and voltage drop, fast control of power, limitless connection distance, and isolation issues, using high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) transmission system is recommended to transfer power in the power systems, including wind farms ...

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Performance Analysis of Stand-Alone Wind Energy Power Conversion System [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Earlier, the production of electricity was primarily reliant on non-renewable sources such as coal and diesel. However, these sources have limited availability and will eventually be depleted. Therefore, it is crucial to shift our focus towards renewable
