Preliminary study of inphase gusts and moment force wind loads over the first 150 meters at KSC, Florida [PDF]
A mathematical/statistical analysis of inphase gusts and wind velocity moment forces over the first 150 m at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) is presented. The wind velocity profile data were acquired at the KSC 150 m ground wind tower.

TGF‐β has a complex role in cancer, exhibiting both tumor‐suppressive and tumor‐promoting properties. Using a series of differentiated tumoroids, derived from different stages and mutational background of colorectal cancer patients, we replicate this duality of TGF‐β in vitro. Notably, the atypical but highly aggressive KRASQ22K mutation rendered early‐

Wind Tunnels in Engineering Education [PDF]
The subject of fluid mechanics is filled with abstract concepts, mathematical methods, and results. Historically, it has been a challenging subject for students, undergraduate and graduate. In most institutions, the introductory course in fluid mechanics is accompanied by a laboratory course.

Wind Engineering in the 21st Century [PDF]
Progress in wind engineering during last 3-5 decades is described in this paper, from the existence of wind tunnels with the simulated atmospheric boundary layer and introducing random processes in wind load on buildings and structures. State of the art is presented from the First International Conference on Wind Effects on Buildings and Structures in ...

Design and operating experience on the US Department of Energy experimental Mod-0 100-kW wind turbine [PDF]
The experimental wind turbine was designed and fabricated to assess technology requirements and engineering problems of large wind turbines. The machine has demonstrated successful operation in all of its design modes and served as a prototype ...

Engineering and fabrication cost considerations for cryogenic wind tunnel models [PDF]
Design and fabrication cost drivers for cryogenic transonic wind tunnel models are defined. The major cost factors for wind tunnel models are model complexity, tolerances, surface finishes, materials, material validation, and model inspection.

We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Investigations into aerodynamics of tall buildings using signal processing tools [PDF]
In rapidly expanding urban environments, the construction of tall, sky-piercing buildings is essential. These slender structures have low resonant frequencies and minimal damping, making them particularly susceptible to lateral loads, such as wind load ...

Considering Capacitive Effects in Foil Winding Homogenization [PDF]
In conventional finite element simulations, foil windings with a thin foil and many turns require many mesh elements. This renders models quickly computationally infeasible. With the use of homogenization approaches, the finite element mesh does not need to resolve the small-scale structure of the foil winding domain.
