A comparative study between seasonal wind speed by Fourier and Wavelet analysis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
Wind Energy is a useful resource for Renewable energy purpose. Wind speed plays a vital role for wind energy calculation of certain location. So, it is very much necessary to know the wind speed data characteristics. In this paper fourier and wavelet transform are applied to study the wind speed data.

Targeting the AKT/mTOR pathway attenuates the metastatic potential of colorectal carcinoma circulating tumor cells in a murine xenotransplantation model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells

High-Frequency Modeling and Simulation of a Single-Phase Three-Winding Transformer Including Taps in Regulating Winding [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
Transformer terminal equivalents obtained via admittance measurements are suitable for simulating high-frequency transient interaction between the transformer and the network. This paper augments the terminal equivalent approach with a measurement-based voltage transfer function model which permits calculation of voltages at internal points in the ...

Time, the final frontier

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This article advocates integrating temporal dynamics into cancer research. Rather than relying on static snapshots, researchers should increasingly consider adopting dynamic methods—such as live imaging, temporal omics, and liquid biopsies—to track how tumors evolve over time.

Generalisation of the two-scale momentum theory for coupled wind turbine/farm optimisation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
An extended theoretical approach is proposed to predict the average power of wind turbines in a large finite-size wind farm. The approach is based on the two-scale momentum theory proposed recently for the modelling of ideal very large wind farms, but the theory is now generalised by introducing the effect of additional pressure difference induced by ...

MET and NF2 alterations confer primary and early resistance to first‐line alectinib treatment in ALK‐positive non‐small‐cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Alectinib resistance in ALK+ NSCLC depends on treatment sequence and EML4‐ALK variants. Variant 1 exhibited off‐target resistance after first‐line treatment, while variant 3 and later lines favored on‐target mutations. Early resistance involved off‐target alterations, like MET and NF2, while on‐target mutations emerged with prolonged therapy.

Wind Estimation in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles with Causal Machine Learning [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this work we demonstrate the possibility of estimating the wind environment of a UAV without specialised sensors, using only the UAV's trajectory, applying a causal machine learning approach. We implement the causal curiosity method which combines machine learning times series classification and clustering with a causal framework.

Predicting wind pressures around circular cylinders using machine learning techniques [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Numerous studies have been carried out to measure wind pressures around circular cylinders since the early 20th century due to its engineering significance. Consequently, a large amount of wind pressure data sets have accumulated, which presents an excellent opportunity for using machine learning (ML) techniques to train models to predict wind ...
