Effects of wind-induced tall building vibrations on a tracking task [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Motion simulator experiments were conducted to study tracking task performances in 12 low frequency fore-aft sinusoidal motion conditions that comprise low, medium and high acceleration amplitudes (8, 16 and 30 mG) and 4 frequencies 0 .125, 0.25, 0.5 and

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Optimal network congestion management using wind farms [PDF]

open access: yes
With the increased use of wind energy for the power generation several TSO have increasing difficulties for congestion forecasting due to the unpredictable nature of the energy source.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Application of Artificial Neural Networks to Control the Output Voltage of Wind Energy System

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Sustainable Development, 2014
This paper presents the use of Artificial Neural Networks to control the output voltage of Self-Excited Induction Generator (SEIG) driven by wind turbine and supplies static load.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

The economics of transmission constraints on wind farms: some evidence from South Australia [PDF]

open access: yes
The impacts of transmission congestion and network investment on the development of the Australian wind energy industry have received growing attention from wind farm developers as well as relevant policy stakeholders such as the Australian Energy Market

Preoperative circulating tumor cells integrated with imaging analysis for prognostic evaluation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...

Probabilistic load flow in systems with high wind power penetration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper proposes a method for solving a probabilistic load flows that takes into account the uncertainties of wind generation, but also of load and conventional systems.
