Examination of simplified load model on fatigue analysis of small wind turbine blade using aeroelastic analysis

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
In this research, probabilistic fatigue load estimation by the aeroelastic modeling was carried out for a small wind turbine with 1m diameter. The results were compared with the simplified load model which is a deterministic method, and quantitative ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

The Influence of Unsteady Wind on the Performance and Aerodynamics of Vertical Axis Wind Turbines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Interest in small–scale wind turbines as energy sources in the built environment has increased due to the desire of consumers in urban areas to reduce their carbon footprint.

Generation of synthetic benchmark electrical load profiles using publicly available load and weather data

open access: yes, 2014
Electrical load profiles of a particular region are usually required in order to study the performance of renewable energy technologies and the impact of different operational strategies on the power grid. Load profiles are generally constructed based on

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Model simplification and optimization of a passive wind turbine generator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, the design of a "low cost full passive structure" of wind turbine system without active electronic part (power and control) is investigated. The efficiency of such device can be obtained only if the design parameters are mutually adapted

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Optimal Management of a Wind/CAES Power Plant by means of Neural Network Wind Speed Forecast

open access: yes, 2007
Some of the major limitations of renewable energy sources are represented by their low power density and intermittent nature, largely depending upon local site and unpredictable weather conditions. These problems concur to increase the unit costs of wind
