Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

Surrogate Models for Wind Turbine Electrical Power and Fatigue Loads in Wind Farm
Fatigue damage of turbine components is typically computed by running a rain-flow counting algorithm on the load signals of the components. This process is not linear and time consuming, thus, it is non-trivial for an application of wind farm control ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Effect of wind flow direction on the loads at wind farm [PDF]
This paper investigates the effect of wind flow direction on the fatigue loads on wind turbine within a wind farm, to determine the most critically loaded machines within the wind farm. The fatigue loads are calculated according IEC standards.

Transmission line ice accretion and wind loads modelling
It is imperative to model the ice and wind loads on transmission lines to understand when failures are likely to occur to avoid significant economic losses and electricity supply instabilities.

Field measurements of wind-induced transmission tower foundation loads
This paper discusses some of the findings arising from long-term monitoring of the wind effects on a transmission tower located on an exposed site in South-West England.
