Fault Diagnosis of Wind Turbine Gearboxes

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
Abnormal vibration appeared when experimental tests was carried out on gearboxes of a 1.5MW wind turbine. In this paper, Time-domain and frequency- domain analysis of test data was implemented based on the method of wavelet denoising, the fault location was determined, and the vibration fault indicators and frequency components were obtained.

Operational Modal Test for Wind Turbine Gearbox

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011
Wind turbine gearbox is a key component of wind power system and it is prone to failure because of complex working environment, so the vibration and noise problems of it can not be ignored. The modal parameters of gearbox can be got by experiment method, which is a necessary condition to improve the structure of gearbox and make dynamic analysis and ...

Bearing Fault Detection within Wind Turbine Gearbox

2017 International Conference on Sensing, Diagnostics, Prognostics, and Control (SDPC), 2017
One of the most challenging scenarios in condition monitoring is the bearing fault detection within strongly masked signal, where the vibration or acoustic signal is dominated by other component such as gears and shafts, a good example for this scenario is the wind turbine gearbox which presents one of the difficult bearing detection tasks ...

Gearbox of Wind Turbine

2018
A gearbox is often used in a wind turbine to increase the rotational speed from a low-speed main shaft to a high-speed shaft connecting with an electrical generator. Gears in wind turbine gearbox are subjected to severe cyclic loading due to variable wind loads that are stochastic in nature.
