Unraveling 4‐Phenylbutyrate's Therapeutic Role in SLC6A1 Disorders: Pharmacochaperoning Over HDAC Inhibition

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Variants in SLC6A1, encoding the GABA transporter 1 (GAT‐1), cause epilepsy, autism spectrum disorder, and developmental delay via loss of GABA uptake, impaired trafficking, and ER retention. We previously found that 4‐Phenylbutyrate (PBA), an FDA‐approved drug, restores GABA uptake and reduces seizures in SLC6A1‐related disorders ...

Temporal Interference Stimulation of Centromedian‐Parafascicular Complex in Disorders of Consciousness: A Pilot Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Treatment of disorders of consciousness (DoC) remains a major clinical challenge, and noninvasive, targeted modulation of deep brain structures has emerged as a promising therapeutic strategy. We aimed to evaluate the feasibility/safety and preliminary effects of thalamic temporal interference stimulation (TIS) targeting centromedian‐

Flexural Behavior of 3D‐Printed Porous Bouligand‐Structured Polymers: Influence of Pitch Angle and Porosity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how helicoidal architectures with different porosities respond to bending. Adjusting layer angle and spacing in 3D‐printed polymers reveals clear tradeoffs between stiffness, strength, and energy absorption. Experiments and simulations highlight designs that distribute stress effectively, offering pathways for optimizing lightweight

Density Measurement of Irradiated and Nonirradiated Zirconium Oxide by Ptychographic X‐Ray Computed Tomography (PXCT)

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mass density governs the protective behavior of oxide layers on nuclear fuel cladding. Ptychographic X‐ray computed tomography measures zirconium oxide grown on Zircaloy‐4 under reactor and autoclave conditions, revealing nearly identical bulk densities of 5.1 ± 0.80 g cm−3.

Morphological evidence for the `implantation window' in human luminal endometrium [PDF]

open access: yesHuman Reproduction, 1999
Endometrial tissue was taken from 21 normal fertile women (aged 18-40 years) between 4 and 13 days after the luteinizing hormone (LH) surge. Systematic random samples of luminal epithelium were taken for both light and electron microscopy and examined morphometrically. Throughout the luteal phase there were remarkably few changes in the volume fraction

Entropy‐Driven Design of Low‐Melting‐Point Alloys via Compositionally Complex Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Conventional low‐melting‐point alloys (LMPAs) are limited by a narrow compositional space and inherent property trade‐offs. This review presents an entropy‐driven design strategy that overcomes these limitations, ushering in a new class of low‐melting‐point compositionally complex alloys (LMCCAs).

Dynamic chromatin remodeling in cycling human endometrium at single-cell level

open access: yesCell Reports, 2023
Summary: Estrogen-dependent proliferation followed by progesterone-dependent differentiation of the endometrium culminates in a short implantation window.

Wearable Smart Patches on Sustainable Chitosan With Reversible Microbial Growth‐Inhibitory Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chitosan, a polysaccharide upcycled from biowaste, has long promised sustainable, biocompatible, and antimicrobial films and devices, an appeal reinforced by its recent regulatory recognition, with several chitosan‐based antibacterial dressings gaining clearance through the Food and Drug Administration's 510(k) pathway.

Identification of key contributory factors responsible for vascular dysfunction in idiopathic recurrent spontaneous miscarriage. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Poor endometrial perfusion during implantation window is reported to be one of the possible causes of idiopathic recurrent spontaneous miscarriage (IRSM).
