Modelling of open photoacoustic resonators [PDF]

open access: yesPhotoacoustics, 2020
Photoacoustic spectroscopy employs acoustic resonators for signal amplification. Resonators are usually closed, however, in some applications, open resonators are preferred. The opening deteriorates the photoacoustic signal hence reducing the sensitivity

Shape Optimization of an Open Photoacoustic Resonator

open access: yesApplied Sciences (Switzerland), 2021
Photoacoustic (PA) measurements with open resonators usually provide poor detection sensitivity due to signal leakage at the resonator opening. We have recently demonstrated three different approaches for modelling the photoacoustic signal of open ...

Brewster window and windowless resonant spectrophones for intracavity operation [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Physics, 1980
We report a new design for an acoustically resonant spectrophone well suited for intracavity operation with widely tunable lasers. Operation with Brewster angle windows or in a windowless mode is possible, and high quality factors (560 and 509, respectively) are achieved. Windowless operation permits continuous monitoring of ambient air.
