A Symmetric Cogeneration Fuel Cell for Coupled Production of Hydrogen, Ammonia and Formate

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A symmetric cogeneration fuel cell integrating value‐added chemical synthesis with electricity generation by coupling formaldehyde oxidation with the nitrate reduction was developed. This work highlights the broader potential of symmetric cogeneration fuel cells as a general platform for rational reaction pairing, offering a practical pathway to lower ...

Concrete in architecture: Redefining form, space, function, and insights from bibliometric analysis

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract Concrete has become a cornerstone in architectural and engineering innovation, as it seamlessly integrates structural performance with artistic expression. Its evolution from ancient opus caementicium to contemporary ultra‐high‐performance concrete illustrates its adaptability to the change in technological, environmental, and design paradigms.

DNA Mold‐Based Fabrication of Continuous Silver Nanostructures

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
Using a DNA mold‐based approach, the growth of silver nanostructures is mediated. By optimizing the metallization protocol and applying thermal annealing, continuous metallic nanowires of several hundred nanometers in length are obtained. The conductance of these nanostructures was perturbed by atmospheric sulfur contaminations, such that precautions ...

Thermally Stable Ceramic‐Based Nanocomposite Coatings for Versatile and Reusable Air Filtration Media

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology, Volume 23, Issue 3, June 2026.
This research presents ceramic‐based nanocomposite coatings, featuring silver nanoclusters embedded in silica or zirconia, designed to enable the creation of reusable and sustainable air filters. These coatings provide a broad‐spectrum antibacterial and antifungal effect through a combination of contact‐mediated killing and the controlled release of ...

Running an electron microscopy core facility

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, Volume 302, Issue 3, Page 346-357, June 2026.
Abstract As electron microscopes became more costly, technically complex, and integral to a wide range of scientific fields, centralised electron microscopy (EM) core facilities have become essential for maintaining accessibility, performance, and quality.

Stable, Near‐Unity‐PLQY CsPbBr3 QDs by In Situ Hydroxyl‐Terminated Polystyrene Ligands

open access: yesChemNanoMat, Volume 12, Issue 5, May 2026.
Hydroxyl‐terminated polystyrene (PS‐OH) is introduced as an in‐situ bifunctional ligand for CsPbBr3 quantum dots. The terminal –OH groups effectively passivate surface defects to achieve near‐unity photoluminescence. Simultaneously, the hydrophobic polymer backbone forms a robust protective shield, significantly enhancing environmental stability.

Sustainable Synthesis of NiMo Alloy Nanoparticles for Hydrogen Evolution Catalysis Using a Recyclable Ionic Liquid Solvent

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 7, 14 April 2026.
NiMo alloy nanoparticles synthesized in BMIM‐NTf2 ionic liquid exhibit composition‐dependent hydrogen evolution activity. The ionic liquid solvent is recovered, purified, and reused for six synthesis cycles while preserving nanoparticle structure and catalytic performance.

Taming the Immiscibility of Gold, Iron, and Boron to Craft Chemodegradable Nanoparticles for Multimodal Imaging and Radiotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 16, 24 April 2026.
Over half of cancer patients undergo radiotherapy. Laser ablation enabled the synthesis of immiscible Au‐Fe‐B nanoparticles designed as degradable bimodal radiosensitizers for X‐ray radiotherapy (XRT), boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT), and bimodal imaging for X‐ray computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). These nanosensitizers

Attenuated pupillary response during visual search in preclinical Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION The locus coeruleus is among the earliest brain regions affected by tau pathology in Alzheimer's disease (AD), but the functional impact is difficult to measure in vivo. Task‐evoked pupil dilation provides an index of locus coeruleus–norepinephrine function that might be altered in cognitively normal older adults with underlying ...

Independent verification of vendor‐issued dosimetric data for 106Ru brachytherapy using diode detectors with traceability to external beam standards for absorbed dose to water

open access: yesMedical Physics, Volume 53, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Background Independent verification of the manufacturer‐provided dosimetry data for 106Ru ophthalmic brachytherapy applicators is crucial for safe and accurate treatment, yet a standardized, traceable method for clinical absolute dosimetry has been lacking. Purpose This work establishes a complete framework for traceable absorbed dose to water
