Fabian two-row winter barley [PDF]
Fabian is a medium-late two-row feedin barley of winter habit developed at Agrotest Fyto, Ltd., Kroměříž, Czech Republic (breeders' rights holder) and registered in the Czech Republic in 2011. In the Official Variety Trials it showed high grain yields under intensive growing conditions (104.5%) and medium yields under low input conditions (101.1 ...

Exploiting the morphological and phenological diversity in barley landraces of Iran [PDF]
Barley is one the most widely cultivated crop in marginal environments which is often exposed to abiotic stresses. It seems that genetic diversity in adaptive characters is the key factor for adaptation to diverse environments. In this research diversity

Quality of winter barley grain from the testing localities in the Czech Republic, harvest 2011.
Samples of two studied winter barley varieties from 13 testing localities were analyzed according to the standard ČSN 461100-5. Favorable weather in 2011 affected contents of nitrogenous substances (11.2 %) and starch (64.7 %) in winter barley caryopses.

Genetic dissection of winter barley seedling response to salt and osmotic stress
Seedling establishment is a vulnerable stage in the crop life cycle which can be affected by different abiotic stresses. Drought and salinity are major environmental constraints worldwide, but few studies have genetically compared these two stresses on ...
