Autonomous Multi‐Objective Nanoscale Characterization of Combinatorial (Al, Sc, B)N Films Reveals Composition‐Dependent Ferroelectric Regimes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Autonomous scanning probe microscopy and multi‐objective Bayesian optimization navigate a ternary (Al,Sc,B)N combinatorial library. Registered photoluminescence, electron‐probe compositional mapping, and X‐ray diffraction connect local electromechanical function to defect‐sensitive emission, composition, and crystal structure.

Housing equity withdrawal since the financial crisis [PDF]

open access: yes
The amount of housing equity withdrawal (HEW) has swung from being significantly positive before the financial crisis and recession, to negative over the past few years.

Electron‐Deficient Linkers Enhance H2O2 Electrosynthesis in Covalent Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Linker π‐conjugation modulates the electronic state of the Ni–N4 centers and their interaction with the key *OOH intermediate while preserving the primary coordination motif. NiPc‐PTDA delivers an H2O2 selectivity of 92% and a production rate of 34.8 mol gcat−1 h−1, highlighting linker electronic properties as a molecular design parameter for NiPc ...

Safe withdrawal rates from retirement savings for residents of emerging market countries [PDF]

open access: yes
Researchers have mostly focused on U.S. historical data to develop the 4 percent withdrawal rate rule. This rule suggests that retirees can safely sustain retirement withdrawals without outliving their wealth for at least 30 years, if they initially ...

Protective Effect of Exercise on Liver Oxidative Stress, Inflammation and Histopathological Changes after Morphine Withdrawal in ‎Rats

open access: yesJournal of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, 2022
Background and purpose: The harmful effects of morphine on the liver after withdrawal syndrome are unclear. In this experiment, we investigated the effects of exercise on oxidative stress, liver inflammation, liver enzymes, and liver histology after ...

Ground‐State Charge‐Transfer Doping in Donor–Acceptor Semiconducting Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates controlled ground‐state charge‐transfer complex formation (GS‐CTC) and doping in a series of diketopyrrolopyrrole‐based donor–acceptor semiconducting polymers paired with a π‐conjugated penta‐t‐butylpentacyanopentabenzo[25]annulene “cyanostar” macrocycle. Complementary experimental techniques show how subtle molecular, electronic,

Predicting Sustainable Retirement Withdrawal Rates Using Valuation and Yield Measures [PDF]

open access: yes
This study attempts to quantify whether a 4 percent withdrawal rate can still be considered as safe for U.S. retirees in recent years when earnings valuations have been at historical highs and the dividend yield has been at historical lows.

Covalent Functionalization of 2D Semiconductors: A Roadmap to Advanced Electronic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Review presents recent advances in the covalent functionalization strategies for two‐dimensional semiconductors and their implementation in modern technologies. Layered materials are modified through diverse molecular chemistries (e.g., thiols, diazonium salts, alkyl halides, and electron‐deficient species) to tailor their surface properties ...

A note on withdrawal from a fluid of finite depth through a point sink [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The problem of withdrawal through a point sink of water from a fluid of finite depth with a free surface is considered. Assuming the flow to be axisymmetric, it is found that there is a maximum Froude number at which such flows can exist.
