Noncommutative symmetric functions associated with a code, Lazard elimination, and Witt vectors [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2007
The construction of the universal ring of Witt vectors is related to Lazard's factorizations of free monoids by means of a noncommutative analogue. This is done by associating to a code a specialization of noncommutative symmetric functions.

Almost purity and overconvergent Witt vectors [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2014
In a previous paper, we stated a general almost purity theorem in the style of Faltings: if R is a ring for which the Frobenius maps on finite p-typical Witt vectors over R are surjective, then the integral closure of R in a finite \'etale extension of R[

Boolean Witt vectors and an integral Edrei-Thoma theorem [PDF]

open access: yesSelecta Mathematica, New Series, 2015
A subtraction-free definition of the big Witt vector construction was recently given by the first author. This allows one to define the big Witt vectors of any semiring.

Greenberg algebras and ramified Witt vectors [PDF]

open access: yesJournal de théorie des nombres de Bordeaux, 2020
Let O be a complete discrete valuation ring of mixed characteristic and with finite residue field k. We study a natural morphism between the Greenberg algebra of O and the special fiber of the scheme of ramified Witt vectors over O.

On the Witt vector Frobenius [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 2014
We study the kernel and cokernel of the Frobenius map on the $p$-typical Witt vectors of a commutative ring, not necessarily of characteristic $p$. We give some equivalent conditions to surjectivity of the Frobenus map on both finite and infinite length ...

The basic geometry of Witt vectors, II: Spaces [PDF]

open access: yesMathematische Annalen, 2015
This is an account of the algebraic geometry of Witt vectors and arithmetic jet spaces. The usual, "p-typical" Witt vectors of p-adic schemes of finite type are already reasonably well understood.

The alternating presentation of Uq(gl2ˆ) from Freidel-Maillet algebras

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2021
An infinite dimensional algebra denoted A¯q that is isomorphic to a central extension of Uq+ - the positive part of Uq(sl2ˆ) - has been recently proposed by Paul Terwilliger.

Pathogenic Mechanisms of Vaccine-Induced Immune Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia in People Receiving Anti-COVID-19 Adenoviral-Based Vaccines: A Proposal

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
VITT is a rare, life-threatening syndrome characterized by thrombotic symptoms in combination with thrombocytopenia, which may occur in individuals receiving the first administration of adenoviral non replicating vectors (AVV) anti Covid19 vaccines ...

The basic geometry of Witt vectors, I: The affine case [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We give a concrete description of the category of etale algebras over the ring of Witt vectors of a given finite length with entries in an arbitrary ring.

Irreducible modules with highest weight vectors over modular Witt and special Lie superalgebras

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2019
Let 𝔽 be an arbitrary field of characteristic p > 2. In this paper we study irreducible modules with highest weight vectors over Witt and special Lie superalgebras of 𝔽.
