Nested Witt vectors and their q-deformation
Let \(N\subset {\mathbb N}\) be a truncation set, i. e. a subset of \({\mathbb N}\) containing every divisor of each of its elements. Let \(Ring\) be the category of commutative rings not necessarily unital and \(gh_N:Ring\rightarrow Ring\) the \(N\)-nested ghost ring functor associating to each ring \(A\) the ring whose underlying set equals \(A^N ...

Formalizing the ring of Witt vectors [PDF]
The ring of Witt vectors $\mathbb{W} R$ over a base ring $R$ is an important tool in algebraic number theory and lies at the foundations of modern $p$-adic Hodge theory. $\mathbb{W} R$ has the interesting property that it constructs a ring of characteristic $0$ out of a ring of characteristic $p > 1$, and it can be used more specifically to ...

Lie powers and Witt vectors [PDF]
Let \(k\) be a field of characteristic \(p>0\) and \(G\) a group. Suppose that \(G\) has a finite dimensional representation in a space \(V\). Denote by \(L(V)\) the free Lie algebra on \(V\). Then each homogeneous component \(L^n(V)\) is a finite dimensional representation of \(G\). Let \(m\) be a positive integer which is not divisible by \(p\).

Witt vectors and Fermat quotients
The Fermat quotient of a number \(n\) with respect to the prime number \(p\) is given by \(q(n) = (n^{p-1}-1)/p\). Elementary properties of the Fermat quotient are here shown to be a consequence of the elementary arithmetic of Witt vectors. Readers should be warned that the symbol \(\mathbb Z_p\), which is used without explanation, stands for \(\mathbb

Our main goal in this paper is to prove results for Witt vectors in the almost category. We finish with an application to almost purity, in particular offering a new proof for rank one valuation rings.

Universal deformation rings and tame blocks [PDF]
Let k be an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic, and let W be the ring of infinite Witt vectors over k. Suppose G is a finite group and B is a block of kG of infinite tame representation type. We find all finitely generated kG-modules V

ABSTRACT This study examines how home‐ and host‐country institutions jointly shape the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) on firms' climate action commitments (CAC) in emerging markets. Drawing on New Institutional Economics and Varieties of Capitalism, we conceptualize FDI as a mechanism of institutional transmission through which multinational
