Ninjinyoeito Prevents Onset of Depression‐Like Behavior and Reduces Hippocampal iNOS Expression in Senescence‐Accelerated Mouse Prone 8 Mice

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
Late‐life depression is a globally prevalent disorder. Ninjinyoeito (NYT), a traditional Japanese herbal medicine, attenuates depressive symptoms in older patients. However, the mechanisms underlying the antidepressive effect of NYT are unknown. In this study, we investigated the mechanism of the action of NYT using senescence‐accelerated mouse prone 8

The Efficacy and Mechanism of Qinghua Jianpi Recipe in Inhibiting Canceration of Colorectal Adenoma Based on Inflammatory Cancer Transformation

open access: yesJournal of Immunology Research, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
Objective. This study is aimed at exploring the effect of Qinghua Jianpi Recipe on preventing colon polyp recurrence and inhibiting the progress of “inflammatory cancer transformation.” And another goal is to explore the changes of intestinal flora structure and intestinal inflammatory (immune) microenvironment of mice with colon polyps treated by ...

A possible new activator of PI3K‐Huayu Qutan Recipe alleviates mitochondrial apoptosis in obesity rats with acute myocardial infarction

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 26, Issue 12, Page 3423-3445, June 2022., 2022
Abstract Obesity, which has unknown pathogenesis, can increase the frequency and seriousness of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). This study evaluated effect of Huayu Qutan Recipe (HQR) pretreatment on myocardial apoptosis induced by AMI by regulating mitochondrial function via PI3K/Akt/Bad pathway in rats with obesity.

Ninjinyoeito exerts an antidepressant‐like effect by enhancing the central noradrenergic system

open access: yesTraditional &Kampo Medicine, Volume 9, Issue 1, Page 25-31, April 2022., 2022
ABSTRACT Aim Ninjinyoeito (NYT) is a Kampo medicine prescribed for patients with decreased mental and physical energy. Clinical studies demonstrate that NYT ameliorates depressive symptoms in patients with various diseases. However, the underlying therapeutic mechanisms of action remain unclear.

[Retracted] Network Pharmacology, Molecular Docking, and Experimental Validation to Unveil the Molecular Targets and Mechanisms of Compound Fuling Granule to Treat Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesOxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Background. Compound fuling granule (CFG) is a traditional Chinese medicine formula that is used for more than twenty years to treat ovarian cancer (OC) in China. However, the underlying processes have yet to be completely understood. This research is aimed at uncovering its molecular mechanism and identifying possible therapeutic targets.

Medicinal Foods, YT and RH Combination, Suppress Cigarette Smoke‐Induced Inflammation and Oxidative Stress by Inhibiting NF‐κB/ERK Signaling Pathways

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Background. Cigarette smoke is a risk factor for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Given the lack of COPD curative treatment, dietary management for COPD patients has become important. This study investigated whether the medicinal foods (YT and RH) could suppress cigarette smoke exposure‐induced inflammation and oxidative stress.

An Efficient PEG/CaCl2-Mediated Transformation Approach for the Medicinal Fungus Wolfiporia cocos

open access: yesJournal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2015
Sclerotia of Wolfiporia cocos are of medicinal and culinary value. The genes and molecular mechanisms involved in W. cocos sclerotial formation are poorly investigated because of the lack of a suitable and reproducible transformation system for W. cocos. In this study, a PEG/ CaCl₂-mediated genetic transformation system for W. cocos was developed.
