INFLUENCE OF SOIL TYPE ON WOOD DENSITY AND MEAN ANNUAL INCREMENT IN TWO COMMERCIAL Eucalyptus CLONES
In forest plantations, the productive potential of a given site results from the interaction between genetic materials and environmental conditions. Both are fundamental factors for wood quality and Mean Annual Increment.

Evaluation of wood basic density as an indirect measurement of the volume of wood raw material [PDF]
The manufacturing process of wood agglomerate integrates distinct unit that transforms wood raw material into wood agglomerate. The yield of wood agglomerate produced is influenced by the density and the quality of the initial raw material. This work has

Plastics: physical-and-mechanical properties and biodegradable potential [PDF]
Introduction. Processing agricultural waste into plant biodegradable plastics is a promising way for its recycling. This work featured the main physical-and-mechanical properties of plant plastics without adhesive substances obtained from millet husk and

Wood can store carbon and help mitigate global climate change. Carbon density (CD), the basis for measuring and analyzing C storage, is the product of wood density (WD) and C concentration, which are dependent on wood structure, cellulose concentration (CC), hemicellulose concentration (HC), and lignin concentration (LC).

This study develops sustainable MgO–C refractories using recycled materials and eco‐friendly fructose–tannin binders. The enhanced performance of citric acid as a cross‐linker and functional additives on mechanical and thermomechanical properties was examined. Characterization included strength tests, immersion trials, and microstructural and inclusion

The Age and Density of Ancient and Modern Oak Wood in Streams and Sediments [PDF]
Large wood of oak trees (Quercus spp.) has resided in the streams and sediments of north Missouri, USA for many thousands of years. This wood affords the opportunity to compare a chronosequence of differences in wood density over a very long period.

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.

Characterization of the fire behaviour of tropical wood species for use in the construction industry [PDF]
It is widely acknowledged that wood is a combustible and flammable material. However, not all woods have the same fire behaviour; this can change significantly depending on the type and species of wood.
