Work and Occupations, 1982
Work dissatisfaction and general alienation of incumbents in seven nonfactory and nonoffice occupations ranging across the prestige hierarchy are examined and compared. Our findings challenge some rather commonly accepted (if seldom tested) social science generalizations.
