Spider Diagrams of Order and a Hierarchy of Star-Free Regular Languages [PDF]
The spider diagram logic forms a fragment of the constraint diagram logic and was designed to be primarily used as a diagrammatic software specification tool.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

A thread-tag based semantics for sequence diagrams [PDF]
The sequence diagram is one of the most popular behaviour modelling languages which offers an intuitive and visual way of describing expected behaviour of object-oriented software.

We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Better Use Case Diagrams by Using Work System Snapshots
Research to date shows significant variability in the success of applying the common technique of use case diagramming for identifying information system scope in terms of use cases performed by actors interacting with an information system or performed automatically by the information system.

What Can Spider Diagrams Say? [PDF]
Spider diagrams are a visual notation for expressing logical statements. In this paper we identify a well known fragment of first order predicate logic, that we call ESD, equivalent in expressive power to the spider diagram language.

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Assisting Stakeholders in Class Diagram Interpretation with LLMs: a Work in Progress
Diagrams can be valuable tools in requirements engineering to establish a shared understanding between software engineers and stakeholders. However, interacting with these visual representations can be challenging for some stakeholders who prefer textual descriptions and may need support to inter- pret notation elements and understand the diagram ...

Fine-Tuned LLMs Versus Rule-Based NLP for UML Diagram Generation: An Educational Evaluation
The automatic generation of Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams from natural language requirements continues to be a difficult task in software engineering education and practice.
