According to classical methods, the bending character of woven fabrics has been expressed by only one term such as bending length, flexural rigidity etc.In 1964, Livesey and Owen invented a simple instrument by which the bending hysteresis can be determined manually.Thereafter, several automatic bending hysteresis testers have been manufactured. The ...

Advances in Electroactive Liquid Crystal Elastomers for Intelligent Robotics and Electronics
Electroactive liquid crystal elastomers (eLCEs) integrate molecular anisotropy with electrical functionality to enable programmable actuation and reconfigurable electronics. This review classifies eLCEs into robotic actuators and adaptive electronics, summarizes key actuation mechanisms, and highlights fabrication strategies that bridge materials to ...

This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

Ethical Precision in Nanoscale Brain Interfacing
As brain interfaces approach the nanoscale, precision no longer only measures—it knows, predicts, and potentially reshapes the mind. This work argues that traditional ethics fails under such conditions and proposes a shift toward continuous, operation‐based governance using the recovery–discovery framework to track, constrain, and responsibly steer ...

This work provides a practical guide for neuroengineers to design advanced neural interfaces, embracing and tailoring the concept of functional disorder. By bridging 2D and 3D in vitro models, this work highlights how non‐periodic, spatially heterogeneous, multiscale nanotopography can enable more physiologically relevant platforms for studying neural ...
