Coating‐Free Nanoscratching for Liquid‐Crystal Alignment on PCB‐Compatible Millimeter‐Wave Reflective Unit Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Direct nanoscratching with a 500 nm diamond lapping film creates groove‐guided liquid‐crystal alignment interfaces on PCB‐compatible Cu‐patterned RF substrates within minutes, eliminating polymer coating and high‐temperature baking. The coating‐free process enables optical/molecular alignment validation and voltage‐programmable 28 GHz reflection‐phase ...

Ultrathin and Flexible Organic Light‐Addressable Potentiometric Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The first ultrathin, fully organic, and flexible light‐addressable potentiometric sensor (LAPS) is demonstrated. With a thickness of only 2.3–2.9 µm, this standalone film offers sensitivity to electrolyte potential and stable performance for over 170 days.

The Oral Intake of Specific Bovine-Derived Bioactive Collagen Peptides Has a Stimulatory Effect on Dermal Matrix Synthesis and Improves Various Clinical Skin Parameters

open access: yesCosmetics
Collagen products are widely marketed for skin improvement. This study evaluated the efficacy of VERISOL B in relation to key skin aging parameters. In a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, 66 women (aged 35–55) were randomized to receive either 2.5 ...

Patterned Screen‐Printing Process for Substrate‐Free and Scalable Hyaluronic Acid Microneedle Arrays

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A substrate‐free microneedle array comprising a hybrid hyaluronic acid ink was fabricated via a scalable screen‐printing process for flexible transdermal drug delivery. Defect‐free mold filling was achieved using a vacuum‐assisted jig and a delayed drying system, and the use of this versatile platform for multi‐drug patterning and ex vivo skin ...

The effectiveness of a microbiome serum containing Lactobacillus plantarum as an antiaging intervention: a double-blind randomized clinical trial

open access: yesJournal of the Egyptian Women’s Dermatologic Society
Background Aging skin exhibits microbial shifts that can accelerate the aging process, and while Lactobacillus plantarum (LP) has shown antiaging benefits, its topical efficacy in humans remains underexplored. Objective To evaluate the effects of topical

Wrinkle-Improving Effect of Novel Peptide That Binds to Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences
Wrinkles, one of the most common signs of aging, are primarily caused by the continuous contraction of muscles. Muscle contraction is induced by the binding of acetylcholine (ACh), released at the neuromuscular junction, to nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) present on the muscle cell surface.

Low‐Pressure Plasma‐Based Wrinkling of PDMS and Machine Learning‐Driven Property Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Wrinkled surfaces are well‐suited for controlled surface deformations in the µm range. The key challenge is the relation between the resulting wrinkle features and the necessary process conditions. Machine learning techniques have solved the prediction and inverse design problems for various preparation conditions, opening a precisely controlled ...

WS2 Micro‐Dome Single Photon Source in a Tunable Open Cavity

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, a single‐photon source based on WS2 micro‐domes is realized and integrated into an open, tunable optical microcavity. Single‐photon emission from the coupled emitter–cavity system is observed. Detailed analysis shows that a pronounced acoustic phonon emission sideband contributes specifically to the non‐resonant emitter–cavity coupling in
