Analysis of the Transformed Contour in the Writer Identification
2019 6th International Conference on Signal Processing and Integrated Networks (SPIN), 2019This work shows an approach for the writer identification using off-line handwritten writing. The contour of handwritten words is calculated. That feature is transformed by a Hidden Markov Model, in order to get a hyperdimensionality of new features. Later, a support vector machine classifier is applied to analyze the grade of discrimination.

Ink texture analysis for writer identification
Proceedings Eighth International Workshop on Frontiers in Handwriting Recognition, 2002This paper presents an approach for ink type recognition. Ink type classes will be derived from the physical properties of ink. Ink specific trace morphologies are considered as textures. From these discriminant texture features of the co-occurrence matrix will be derived.

A Set of Novel Features for Writer Identification
2003A system for writer identification is described in this paper. It first segments a given page of handwritten text into individual lines and then extracts a set of features from each line. These features are subsequently used in a k-nearest-neighbor classifier that compares the feature vector extracted from a given input text to a number of prototype ...

Disguising writer identification: an experimental study
2009The paper reports an experimental study aimed at evaluating the potential of pattern recognition techniques when establishing the authorship of documents in case of disguising writers. The experimental work has been motivated by a conjecture about the role played by different cognitive processes involved in the production of handwriting, either genuine

Handwriting Analysis with Focus on Writer Identification and Writer Retrieval.
2019In the course of the mass digitization of historical as well as contemporary sources, an individual examination by means of historical or forensic experts is no longer feasible. A solution could be an automatic handwriting analysis that determines or suggests script attributes, such as the writer or the date of a document.
