Thermal expansion and x-ray-absorption fine-structure cumulants

Physical Review B, 1993
In the classical limit, a simple relation has been shown to exist between the thermal expansion coefficient \ensuremath{\alpha} and the cumulants of the vibrational amplitude that are measured in x-ray-absorption fine structure (XAFS), i.e., \ensuremath{\alpha}rT${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\sigma}}}^{2}$/${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\sigma}}}^{(3)}$=1/2, where ...

Multielectron x-ray photoexcitation observations in x-ray-absorption fine-structure background

Physical Review Letters, 1992
Multielectron excitations involving deep and shallow core levels have been identified for the first time in the x-ray-absorption fine-structure (XAFS) energy range for crystalline samples, RbBr and \ensuremath{\beta}-${\mathrm{PbO}}_{2}$. The XAFS oscillations have been fitted and subtracted from the experimental data using theoretical standards.

X-ray absorption near-edge structure and extended x-ray absorption fine-structure investigation of Pd silicides

Physical Review B, 1985
X-ray absorption spectroscopy is used to investigate the near-L-edge structures of Pd in pure Pd and bulk ${\mathrm{Pd}}_{2}$Si and PdSi silicides. Possible many-body effects are suggested to explain the apparent discrepancy between the occurrence of ${L}_{2}$,3 white lines and the 4d hole filling in Pd silicides.

Soft X-Ray Absorption Fine Structure

2018
Soft X-ray absorption fine structure (SXAFS) is based on the excitation of core-level electrons to the unoccupied states around the vacuum level, which is accompanied with soft X-ray absorption. Since each element has its own core-level energy, the SXAFS provides with element-specific information.
