Structural isomserism in gold nanoparticles revealed by X-ray crystallography

open access: yesNature Communications, 2015
Revealing structural isomerism in nanoparticles using single-crystal X-ray crystallography remains a largely unresolved task, although it has been theoretically predicted with some experimental clues.

Direct Electron Detection Electron Energy‐Loss Spectroscopy: Speeding Up 2D Analytical In Situ Transmission Electron Microscopy for Aluminum Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scanning transmission electron microscopy imaging techniques are an essential tool to document dynamic developments, such as precipitation in aluminum alloys, during in situ heating experiments using transmission electron microscopy. However, in many cases, chemical information is required to interpret complex nanoscale processes.

Synthetic metallomolecules as agents for the control of DNA structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This tutorial review summarises B-DNA structure and metallomolecule binding modes and illustrates some DNA structures induced by molecules containing metallic cations. The effects of aquated metal ions, cobalt amines, ruthenium octahedral metal complexes,

A century of X-ray crystallography and 2014 international year of X-ray crystallography

open access: yesMacedonian Journal of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, 2015
The 100th anniversary of the Nobel prize awarded to Max von Laue in 1914 for his discovery of diffraction of X-rays on a crystal marked the beginning of a new branch of science - X-ray crystallography. The experimental evidence of von Laue's discovery was given by physicists W. Friedrich and P. Knipping in 1912.  In the same year

Enhancing Optoelectronic Properties in Phthalocyanine‐Based SURMOFs: Synthesis of ABAB Linkers by Avoiding Statistical Condensation with Tailored Building Blocks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel phthalocyanine (PC)‐based metal–organic framework (MOFs) is synthesized using ditopic PC linkers obtained through regioselective statistical condensation. The resulting MOF exhibits significant improvements in electronic absorption, thereby enhancing the material's performance in light harvesting and energy conversion.

A rare and exclusive endoperoxide photoproduct derived from thiacalix[4]arene crown-shaped derivative bearing 9,10-substituted anthracene moiety [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A rare and exclusive endoperoxide photoproduct was quantitatively obtained from a thiacalix[4]arene crown-shaped derivative upon irradiation at λ=365 nm; the structure was unambiguously confirmed by 1H/13C NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography.

The Structure of Human Microsomal Cytochrome P450 3A4 Determined by X-ray Crystallography to 2.05-Å Resolution*

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2004
The structure of P450 3A4 was determined by x-ray crystallography to 2.05-Å resolution. P450 3A4 catalyzes the metabolic clearance of a large number of clinically used drugs, and a number of adverse drug-drug interactions reflect the inhibition or ...

Highly Efficient 3D‐Printed PVDF‐Based Triboelectric Nanogenerators Featuring Polymorphic Perovskite Nanofillers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the use of a low‐cost 3D printing technique to prepare a large‐area PVDF‐FAPbI3 composite dielectric film for flexible TENG application. The δ→α phase transformation of the FAPbI3 nanofillers has significantly improved the β‐phase content, morphology, and dielectric properties of the PVDF film.

Excited State Modulation in Carbene‐Metal‐Amides to Design Fast and Bright Blue Delayed Fluorescence

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Gold‐centered carbene‐metal amide (CMA) materials with carbonyl‐group substitution on the amide donor ligand. Molecular design ensures that the charge transfer (CT) state is lower in energy than the locally excited (3LE) states. The energy difference between CT and LE states controls the rate of the delayed fluorescence.
