X-ray diffraction broadening analysis

open access: yesMacedonian Journal of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, 2015
The microstructure is very important in research aimed to the development of new materials. The microstructural parameters, crystallite size, crystallite size distribution, crystallite strain, dislocation density and stacking fault probability, play a ...

Multivariate Analysis Applications in X-ray Diffraction

open access: yesCrystals, 2020
Multivariate analysis (MA) is becoming a fundamental tool for processing in an efficient way the large amount of data collected in X-ray diffraction experiments. Multi-wedge data collections can increase the data quality in case of tiny protein crystals;

Viscosity of liquid GaxNi100-x alloys [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Structure of liquid Sb-Sn alloys were studied by means of viscosity measurements and X-ray diffraction. Structural factors and pair correlation functions were analyzed and interpreted using the random atomic distribution model.

X-ray Diffraction Tomographic Imaging and Reconstruction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Material discrimination based on conventional or dual energy X-ray computed tomography (CT) imaging can be ambiguous. X-ray diffraction imaging (XDI) can be used to construct diffraction profiles of objects, providing new molecular signature information ...

X-ray powder diffraction of high-absorption materials at the XRD1 beamline off the best conditions: Application to (Gd,Nd)5Si4 compounds

open access: yes, 2016
Representative compounds of the new family of magnetic materials Gd5-xNdxSi4 were analyzed by X-ray diffraction at the XRD1 beamline at LNLS. To reduce X-ray absorption, thin layers of the powder samples were mounted outside the capillaries and measured ...

The anabolic steroid stanozolol is a potent inhibitor of human MutT homolog 1

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
MutT homolog 1 (MTH1) is a member of the NUDIX superfamily of enzymes and is an anticancer drug target. We show that stanozolol (Stz), an anabolic steroid, is an unexpected nanomolar inhibitor of MTH1. The X‐ray crystal structure of the human MTH1–Stz complex reveals a unique binding scaffold that could be utilized for future inhibitor development ...

Twins and their boundaries during homoepitaxy on Ir(111)

open access: yes, 2010
The growth and annealing behavior of strongly twinned homoepitaxial films on Ir(111) has been investigated by scanning tunneling microscopy, low energy electron diffraction and surface X-ray diffraction. In situ surface X-ray diffraction during and after

X-ray Raman scattering study of aligned polyfluorene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present a non-resonant inelastic x-ray scattering study at the carbon K-edge on aligned poly[9,9-bis(2-ethylhexyl)-fluorene-2,7-diyl] and show that the x-ray Raman scattering technique can be used as a practical alternative to x-ray absorption ...

Single cis‐elements in brassinosteroid‐induced upregulated genes are insufficient to recruit both redox states of the BIL1/BZR1 DNA‐binding domain

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phytohormone brassinosteroid‐induced gene regulation by the transcription factor BIL1/BZR1 involves redox‐dependent DNA‐binding alternation and interaction with the transcription factor PIF4. The reduced BIL1/BZR1 dimer binds preferred cis‐elements, while oxidation alters its oligomerization state and disrupts DNA‐binding ability.
