X-ray based extensometry [PDF]

open access: yes
A totally new method of extensometry using an X-ray beam was proposed. The intent of the method is to provide a non-contacting technique that is immune to problems associated with density variations in gaseous environments that plague optical methods.

The Correlation between X-ray spectral slope and FeKalpha line energy in radio-quiet active galactic nuclei

open access: yes, 2002
A significant correlation between FeKalpha line energy and X-ray spectral slope has been discovered among radio-quiet active galactic nuclei. The ionization stage of the bulk of the FeKalpha emitting material is not the same in all active galactic nuclei

Magnetic Field‐Assisted Conductive Nerve Guidance Conduit Enabling Peripheral Nerve Regeneration with Wireless Electrical Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a conductive nerve guidance conduit integrated with wireless electrical stimulation through alternating magnetic fields, which induces currents and creates a supportive microenvironment for nerve regeneration. In vivo studies show that this approach significantly enhanced myelin restoration, gastrocnemius muscle regeneration ...

X-RAY FLUORESCENCE AND EMISSION | Total Reflection X-Ray Fluorescence

open access: yes, 2005
Total reflection X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (TXRF) is a trace elemental micro analysis technique based on conventional energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence. It has become increasingly popular in the last few decades and is applied in almost every field of trace elemental analysis where low detection limits and multi element capabilities are ...

Holographic analysis of diffraction structure factors

open access: yes, 2002
We combine the theory of inside-source/inside-detector x-ray fluorescence holography and Kossel lines/x ray standing waves in kinematic approximation to directly obtain the phases of the diffraction structure factors.

Confocal X-ray technology based on capillary X-ray optics

open access: yesReviews in Analytical Chemistry, 2015
Capillary X-ray optics is versatile, and it can be used with synchrotron radiation source, conventional X-ray source, laser-plasma ultrafast X-ray source, and so forth.

In‐Situ Growth of 2D MOFs as a Molecular Sieving Layer on SnS2 Nanoflakes for Realizing Ultraselective H2S Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
The ultraselective H2S detection of the ZIF‐L/SnS2 heterostructure is demonstrated. The introduction of 2‐dimensional (2D) breathable ZIF‐L results in a substantial increase in H2S selectivity attributable to the molecular sieving effect, which impedes the permeation of gases with large kinetic diameters and high polarity.

Total reflection X-ray fluorescence

open access: yesPhysical Sciences Reviews, 2018
Abstract Total reflection X-ray fluorescence (TXRF) spectrometry is a non-destructive and surface sensitive multi-element analytical method based on energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry with detection limits in the lower picogram range. It utilizes the total reflection of the primary X-ray beam at or below the critical angle of incidence ...

X-ray induced persistent photoconductivity in Si-doped Al$_{0.35}$Ga$_{0.65}$As

open access: yes, 2000
We demonstrate that X-ray irradiation can be used to induce an insulator-metal transition in Si-doped Al$_{0.35}$Ga$_{0.65}$As, a semiconductor with {\it DX} centers.

Thermally Induced Gelling Systems Based on Patchy Polymeric Micelles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
A novel strategy to design thermally induced gelling systems with tunable material properties is reported. Polymeric mixed‐shell micelles displaying multiple thermosensitive patchy domains formed hydrogels by assembling into well‐entangled worm‐like network structures upon heating to body temperature. The patchy micelle design significantly affects the
