Synchrotron X-ray fluorescence analysis in environmental and earth sciences
Compared to other microscopic analytical tools X-ray microscopy techniques have the advantage that the large penetration depth of X-rays in matter allows one to investigate the interior of an object without destructive sample preparation.

Quantitative electron probe microanalysis in the system Fe-Sn-C using the Claisse-Quintin relation [PDF]
Quantitative interpretation of EPMA measurements was required for the construction of the Fe-Sn-C phase diagram. This involved the conversion of measured x-ray intensities into concentrations, which is difficult for a light element (such as C) being ...

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.
