Quantitative Phase Analysis by X-ray Diffraction—Doping Methods and Applications
X-ray powder diffraction is an ideal technique for the quantitative analysis of a multiphase sample. The intensities of diffraction lines of a phase in a multiphase sample are proportional to the phase fraction and the quantitative analysis can be ...

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

X-ray Reflectometry and Related Surface Near X-ray Scattering Methods [PDF]
Abstract Surface sensitive X-ray scattering methods are mostly non-destructive tools which are frequently used to investigate the nature of thin films, interfaces and artificial near surface structures. Discussed here are diffraction based methods, namely reflectometry and the related techniques grazing incidence diffraction and crystal ...

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

In-situ Analysis of Laminated Composite Materials by X-ray Micro-Computed Tomography and Digital Volume Correlation [PDF]
The complex mechanical behaviour of composite materials, due to internal heterogeneity and multi-layered composition impose deeper studies. This paper presents an experimental investigation technique to perform volume kinematic measurements in composite ...

X-RAY METHODS OF DIAGNOSING THE ENDOPERIODONTITIS
Comparative analysis of the X-ray examination methods revealed the higher informational content of the cone-beam computed tomography up to 5,51±0,61% than the orthopantomography in the diagnosis of endoperiodontitis in patients aged 35-44 years with ...

Syntheses of Bi2X3 (X = S, Se, Te) from elements under hydrothermal conditions
Bismuth chalcogenides (Bi2X3, X = S, Se, Te) were synthesized from the elements under hydrothermal condition. Single phases of Bi2S3 and Bi2Se3 were produced at 240 °C. Bi2Te3 was obtained as an almost single phase with a small amount of Bi2TeO5.
