Interlaboratory Tests of X-Ray Quantitative Phase Analysis

Powder Diffraction, 1992
Abstract The results of an international project involving five countries and seven laboratories performing over 400 analyses for testing the interlaboratory reproducibility and accuracy using quantitative powder diffraction are presented in this report. Four natural and four artificial mineral mixtures were examined.

Variation of the X-ray quantitative phase analysis method

Inorganic Materials, 2009
A method to determine the composition of the phase coequilibrium with one of the components in the system under study is proposed. It is based on the use of diffraction pattern data for test samples whose representative points are located at different sides of the point of the phase in question.

Methods of mixing in quantitative X-ray phase analysis

Journal of Applied Crystallography, 1979
The mass absorption factor μ*0j of an unknown sample can be determined by mixing of the sample with a substance for which the mass absorption coefficient μ*0K is known, and then measuring the intensity of the analytical lines of the mixture and the sample.

DQE analysis on a dual detector phase x-ray imaging system

Physics in Medicine and Biology, 2008
This study presents the characterization results of a newly developed dual detector in-line phase x-ray imaging prototype. Comparison of modulation transfer function (MTF), noise power spectrum (NPS) and detective quantum efficiency (DQE) for both detectors was conducted when they worked in the dual detection mode, in which two images are acquired ...

Zircaloy-2 secondary phase precipitate analysis by X-ray microspectroscopy

Talanta, 2008
Secondary phase precipitates of a Zircaloy sample have been characterised by X-ray microspectroscopy. In Zircaloy-2 X-ray microscopy reveals pictures with a 40 nm resolution identifying Fe, Cr and to a lower occurrence Ni phases up to size of the micrometer.

Noise analysis of speckle-based x-ray phase-contrast imaging

Optics Letters, 2016
Speckle-based x-ray phase-contrast imaging has drawn increasing interest in recent years as a simple, multimodal, cost-efficient, and laboratory-source adaptable method. We investigate its noise properties to help further optimization on the method and further comparison with other phase-contrast methods.

Heights of Overlapping X‐ray Reflections and Phase Analysis

Crystal Research and Technology, 1986
AbstractThe influence of reflections overlapping on the heights of their maxima is investigated using the Lorentzian profile approximation. This influence should be taken into account in automatic powder diffractometer programs of phase analysis based on the peak heights.

X-ray phase analysis with depth profiling for thin films

Thin Solid Films, 1992
Abstract A conventional X-ray diffractometer with a sample tilting X-ray diffraction (STD) mode is a useful tool which can better characterize the phase composition of films from 100 A to a few micrometers thick with random or preferred orientations. In this paper equations of an asymmetrical Bragg reflection intensity and the observed crystal plane ...

Dilution and Addition Methods in Quantitative X-Ray Diffraction Phase Analysis

1989
The principles of the following doping methods in phase analysis of a multicomponent mixture are described: (a) determination of the fraction of a component using repeated dopings or (b) using a single doping, (c) simultaneous determination of the fractions of several components using a single doping, (d) determination of the fraction of the dominant ...
