Studies of atomic scale diffusion by X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy
Although Quasielastic Neutron Scattering (QNS) has proven successful in investigating diffusive dy-namics at the atomic level in solid state physics, the limits for the diffusion coefficient are relativelylow. Therefore QNS is in general limited to measurements in the vicinity of the melting transition. Also, because of the specific scattering cross ...

Three‐dimensional Antimony Sulfide Based Flat Optics
This work presents the development of a grayscale electron beam lithography (g‐EBL) method for fabricating antimony trisulfide (Sb2S3) nanostructures with customizable 3D profiles. The refractive index of g‐EBL patterned Sb2S3 is determined based on the synergy of genetic algorithm and transfer matrix method.

Nanoscale inhomogeneity of charge density waves dynamics in La2−xSrxNiO4
While stripe phases with broken rotational symmetry of charge density are known to emerge in doped strongly correlated perovskites, the dynamics and heterogeneity of spatial ordering remain elusive. Here we shed light on the temperature dependent lattice

Feasibility study of visibility-based X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy [PDF]
When coherent X-rays impinge upon a disordered system, a grainy scattering pattern called speckle pattern is observed. If the system evolves with time, the corresponding speckle pattern also changes. Temporal changes in the speckle patterns therefore provide information on the dynamics of the system.

A FeN4─O/Clu@NC‐0.1Ac catalyst containing atomically‐dispersed FeN4─O sites (medium‐spin Fe2+) and Fe clusters delivered a half‐wave potential of 0.89 V for ORR and an overpotential of 330 mV at 10 mA cm−2 for OER in 0.1 m KOH. When the catalyst was used in a rechargeable Zn–air battery, a power density of 284.5 mW cm−2 was achieved with excellent ...

DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.

Layer dependent band dispersion and correlations using tunable Soft X-ray ARPES
Soft X-ray Angle-Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy is applied to study in-plane band dispersions of Nickel as a function of probing depth. Photon energies between 190 and 780 eV were used to effectively probe up to 3-7 layers.

Circular photogalvanic effect measurements and first‐principles calculations reveal spin‐splitting states in solution‐processed bournonite films (CuPbSbS3) due to structural and bulk inversion asymmetry. The results provide experimental confirmation of coexisting Rashba and Dresselhaus spin‐splitting states in this non‐centrosymmetric chalcogenide ...
