Calcined mullite powder produced from waste clay-diatomite [PDF]

open access: yesScience of Sintering
Mullite powders have been fabricated using diatomite powder as Si and Al-nitrate as Al precursors, without using any additives. Samples were calcined at three temperatures (1300, 1400 and 1500ºC) for a period of 1, 2 and 4 h.

Powder Optimization Strategies for Binder Jetting Printing of BaTiO3 and Ba0,6Sr0,4TiO3 Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Powder optimization is investigated to enable binder jetting of BaTiO3 and Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ferroelectric ceramics. The antagonistic relationship between flowability and binder compatibility is addressed through binder impregnation of granulated powders and fumed silica addition to fine powders.

X-ray powder diffraction analysis of a silver(I)-aspartame complex

open access: yes, 2006
Synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) data were collected for the silver(I)-aspartame complex [Ag(C14H17N2O5)]center dot 1/2 H2O. The complex was obtained from a stoichiometric mixture of aspartame (3-amino-N-(alpha-carboxyphenethyl)-succinamic ...

Pyramidal Structures on Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia after High Temperature Exposure at 1500°C: New Features on an Old Material

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...
