Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Cosmological Evolution of the Central Engine in High-Luminosity, High-Accretion Rate AGN
In this paper I discuss the status of observational studies aiming at probing the cosmological evolution of the central engine in high-luminosity, high-accretion rate Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN). X-ray spectroscopic surveys, supported by extensive multi-

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Smart Source Detection Framework for Lobster Eye Telescopes
Lobster eye telescopes are designed to capture X-ray emissions from celestial objects across a broad field of view. However, the unique optical system of these telescopes leads to a cruciform pattern on the detector plane, complicating the detection of ...

The high energy X-ray probe (HEX-P): bringing the cosmic X-ray background into focus
Since the discovery of the cosmic X-ray background (CXB), astronomers have strived to understand the accreting supermassive black holes (SMBHs) contributing to its peak in the 10–40 keV band.

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

Surveys of the Cosmic X-Ray Background
We provide a highly concise overview of what X-ray surveys and their multiwavelength follow-up have revealed about the nature of the cosmic X-ray background (CXRB) and its constituent sources. We first describe early global studies of the CXRB, the development of imaging CXRB surveys, and the resolved CXRB fraction.

Unconventional AGN in hard X‐ray surveys [PDF]
AbstractExtensive programs of follow–up observations of hard X–ray selected sources have unambiguously revealed that the sources of the X–ray background are characterized by an extremely large dispersion in their optical magnitude and spectroscopic classification.

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

A multi-frequency study of the deep Pavo field [PDF]
We test the prediction of Hamilton and Helfand (1993) that faint radio selected galaxies are a new class contributing to the diffuse X-ray background (XRB) radiation.
