A radically new method of tomographic image recording based on reduced coherence interferometry is presented. It has potential for 3-D x-ray imaging use. Previous attempts to produce 3-D x-ray imaging usually involved, in the case of computer assisted tomography,1 2-D projection images and heavy use of computers for data processing and display, thus ...

X-ray and ultrasonic tomography
Insight - Non-Destructive Testing and Condition Monitoring, 2003Conventional X-ray and ultrasonic NDT methods are very popular in Indian industry and their scope is growing at a steady pace. Tomographic extensions of these methods, however, have not made a mark yet. There is considerable activity in the country to develop CT scanners, X-ray as well as ultrasonic, for a variety of NDT applications.
