Abstract The ozonation of xanthene was studied using an oxygen stream. Ozone attacks the methylene group of xanthene via a 1,3-dipolar insertion reaction to give the hydrotrioxide intermediate, followed by a loss of singlet oxygen to form xanthydrol.

Wash‐Free Multi‐Target Super‐Resolution Microscopy With Photocaged DNA Labels

Photocaged DNA labels enable wash‐free multi‐target super‐resolution microscopy. A single type of DNA–fluorophore imager strand hybridizes to two orthogonal light‐responsive docking strands, whose hybridization state can be modulated with light from “ON” to “OFF” and vice versa.
