NINJ1 regulates ferroptosis via xCT antiporter interaction and CoA modulation

open access: yesCell Death & Disease
AbstractNinjurin-1 (NINJ1), initially identified as a stress-induced protein in neurons, recently emerged as a key mediator of plasma membrane rupture during apoptosis, necrosis, and pyroptosis. However, its involvement in ferroptosis remains unknown.

XCT inspection in bonded aircraft repairs for composites

open access: yese-Journal of Nondestructive Testing, 2020
As bonded composite repairs are gaining importance for modern civil aircraft, it is necessary to investigate such repairs in detail under relevant environmental conditions. In this work, X-ray computed tomography (XCT) was performed on bonded repairs for carbon fiber (CF) reinforced epoxy matrix composites before and after cyclic conditioning between ...

Recycling End‐of‐Life Solid Oxide Cell Interconnect Assemblies into Commercial‐Grade AISI 304 Stainless Steels

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This study validates a recycling pathway for converting interconnect assemblies from end‐of‐life SOC stacks into commercial‐grade AISI 304 steels. Using scrap‐based steelmaking operations, austenitic cast steels with <4.0% δ‐ferrite are successfully produced.

Assessing the reliability of saw mark features: A comparative study using stereomicroscopy, micro‐XCT, and 3D printing

open access: yesJournal of Forensic Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Saw mark analysis is an important component of forensic anthropology, particularly in cases of postmortem dismemberment. While stereomicroscopy remains the benchmark for evaluating kerf features, recent advances in imaging technologies offer new opportunities for documenting and interpreting bone trauma.
