Mode-Dependent Effect of Xenon Inhalation on Kainic Acid-Induced Status Epilepticus in Rats
Previous studies have reported the possible neuroprotective effects of xenon treatment. The purpose of this study was to define the range of effective xenon ratio, most effective xenon ratio, and time-window for intervention in the kainic acid (KA ...

Signal yields, energy resolution, and recombination fluctuations in liquid xenon [PDF]
This work presents an analysis of monoenergetic electronic recoil peaks in the dark-matter-search and calibration data from the first underground science run of the Large Underground Xenon (LUX) detector.

Ionization of the xenon fluorides [PDF]
The noble-gas atom xenon can bind fluorine atoms and form several stable compounds. We study the electronic structure of the xenon fluorides (XeFn, n=2, 4, 6) by calculating their ionization spectra using a Green’s function method, which allows one to treat many-body effects at a high level. Our focus is on the valence region and on the Xe 4d core hole.

Energy absorption of xenon clusters in helium nanodroplets under strong laser pulses [PDF]
Energy absorption of xenon clusters embedded in helium nanodroplets from strong femtosecond laser pulses is studied theoretically. Compared to pure clusters we find earlier and more efficient energy absorption in agreement with experiments.

Observation of micropores in hard-carbon using Xe-129 NMR porosimetry [PDF]
The existence of micropores and the change of surface structure in pitch-based hard-carbon in xenon atmosphere were demonstrated using Xe-129 NMR. For high-pressure (4.0 MPa) Xe-129 NMR measurements, the hard-carbon samples in Xe gas showed three peaks ...

Comparison on the Aging of Woods Exposed to Natural Sunlight and Artificial Xenon Light
To investigate the relationship between sunlight and artificial light sources on the weathering of wood, three woods, namely, Tectona grandis L.F. (teak), Stereospermum colais (mabberley), and Dicorynia guianensis (basralocus), were tested under natural ...

Supernova Neutrino Physics with Xenon Dark Matter Detectors [PDF]
The dark matter experiment XENON1T is operational and sensitive to all flavors of neutrinos emitted from a supernova. We show that the proportional scintillation signal (S2) allows for a clear observation of the neutrino signal and guarantees a ...

Probe of Multielectron Dynamics in Xenon by Caustics in High-Order Harmonic Generation. [PDF]
We investigated the giant resonance in xenon by high-order harmonic generation spectroscopy driven by a two-color field. The addition of a nonperturbative second harmonic component parallel to the driving field breaks the symmetry between neighboring ...
