Cereal Arabinoxylans—Their Enzymatic Degradation and Relevance for Breadmaking and Human Health

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT As the most abundant nonstarch polysaccharides in cereals, arabinoxylans (AXs) contribute significantly to the global intake of dietary fiber. They play a crucial role in the breadmaking process with respect to dough rheology and texture, bread volume, and nutritional quality, especially when starting from wheat or rye flour.

XYLO-OLIGOSACCHARIDES PRODUCTION BY AUTOHYDROLYSIS OF CORN FIBER SEPARATED FROM DDGS

open access: yesBioResources, 2012
Xylo-oligosaccharides (XOS) are reported to have beneficial health properties, and they are considered to be functional food ingredients. Corn fiber separated from distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) could be a valuable feedstock for XOS ...

XO mice

open access: yesGenetical Research, 1962
The inactive-X hypothesis (Lyon, 1961) states that in the normal female mouse only one of the two X chromosomes is genetically active in each cell of the body other than the germ-cells, and that the choice of which X is to be inactivated occurs at an early stage of embryogenesis, and is at random in each cell.

The site conditions of the Guo Shou Jing Telescope

open access: yes, 2012
The weather at Xinglong Observing Station, where the Guo Shou Jing Telescope (GSJT) is located, is strongly affected by the monsoon climate in north-east China. The LAMOST survey strategy is constrained by these weather patterns.

One-step fermentation for producing xylo-oligosaccharides from wheat bran by recombinant Escherichia coli containing an alkaline xylanase

open access: yesBMC Biotechnology, 2022
Background One-step fermentation is a cheap way to produce xylo-oligosaccharides (XOS), where production of xylanases and XOS is integrated into a single process. In spite of cost advantage, one-step fermentation is still short in yield so far due to the

Persian Deixis in the Flow of Conversation

open access: yesStudia Linguistica, Volume 79, Issue 3, Page 469-488, December 2025.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the two demonstratives in Persian conversation, namely the proximal een, “this,” and distal oun, “that,” and their plural forms, that constitute the bulk of Persian pronominal and adnominal demonstratives functioning as anaphoric, deictic, discourse‐deictic and recognitional. The data from which these demonstratives are

Combinatorial Auctions with Decreasing Marginal Utilities

open access: yes, 2001
In most of microeconomic theory, consumers are assumed to exhibit decreasing marginal utilities. This paper considers combinatorial auctions among such submodular buyers.

Evaluation of the prebiotic potential of arabinoxylans extracted from wheat distillers’ dried grains with solubles (DDGS) and in-process samples [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Distillers’ dried grains with solubles (DDGS) is a low value agro-industrial by-product, rich in arabinoxylans (AX), which is produced by commercial distillery and bioethanol plants.

Safety of the extension of use of galacto‐oligosaccharides as a novel food pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2015/2283

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract Following a request from the European Commission, the EFSA Panel on Nutrition, Novel Foods and Food Allergens (NDA) was asked to deliver an opinion on the extension of use of galacto‐oligosaccharides (GOS) as a novel food (NF) pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2015/2283. The NF is produced from milk‐derived lactose using β‐galactosidases.
