Environmental Transformation and Trophic Transfer of Engineered Nanomaterials in the Agri‐Food Chain and Implications for human Health

open access: yesChemFoodChem, Volume 2, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Engineered nanomaterials (ENMs) are increasingly applied in agriculture to improve crop yield, nutrient efficiency, and food quality. This study examines the environmental transformation of ENMs, their uptake in plants, and their transfer across the agri‐food chain leading to human exposure.

Lysine lactylation‐mediated post‐translational modification: Molecular mechanisms and therapeutic target exploration in tumour drug resistance

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
Lysine lactylation (Kla) serves as a metabolic–epigenetic switch governed by writer–eraser–reader regulatory systems, directly connecting the Warburg effect to diverse forms of tumour drug resistance. Intratumoural lactylation critically contributes to treatment failure in chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy.

Association Studies Between XRCC1, XRCC2, XRCC3 Polymorphisms and Differentiated Thyroid Carcinoma

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2016
Background/Aims: DNA HRR pathway and BER pathway play vital roles in differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) development, thus we supposed that polymorphisms of XRCC1, XRCC2, XRCC3 DNA repair genes are associated with thyroid cancer risk and progression ...

Distribution and Haplotype Associations of XPD Lys751Gln, XRCC1 Arg280His and XRCC1 Arg399Gln Polymorphisms with Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma in the Malaysian Population

open access: yesAsian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention, 2014
DNA repair pathways play a crucial role in maintaining the human genome. Previous studies associated DNA repair gene polymorphisms (XPD Lys751Gln, XRCC1 Arg280His and XRCC1 Arg399Gln) with nasopharyngeal carcinoma. These non-synonymous polymorphisms may alter DNA repair capacity and thus increase or decrease susceptibility.

XRCC1 codon 399Gln polymorphism is associated with radiotherapy-induced acute dermatitis and mucositis in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients

open access: yesRadiation Oncology, 2013
Background To evaluate the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) at the 194 and 399 codons of XRCC1, and the risk of severe acute skin and oral mucosa reactions in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients in China. Methods 114 patients with

Association between polymorphisms in DNA repair genes and survival of non-smoking female patients with lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2009
Background Excision repair cross-complementing group 1 (ERCC1) and group 2 (ERCC2), and X-ray repair cross-complementing group 1 (XRCC1) proteins play important roles in the repair of DNA damage and adducts.

Preliminary Study on the Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) of XRCC1 Gene Identificationto Improve the Outcomes of Radiotherapy for Cervical Cancer

open access: yesBiosaintifika: Journal of Biology & Biology Education, 2015
Cervical cancer is the most fatal disease among Indonesian women. In recognition of the substantial variation in the intrinsic response of individuals to radiation, an effort had been done to identify the genetic markers, primarily Single Nucleotide ...

XRCC1 Arg399Gln and Arg194Trp polymorphisms regulate XRCC1 expression and chemoresistance of non-small cell lung cancer cells

open access: yesBIOCELL, 2019
X-ray repair cross-complementing protein 1 (XRCC1) could repair cisplatin-induced DNA damage. XRCC1 Arg399Gln and Arg194Trp variants alter XRCC1 expression and function, leading to changes in cancer sensitivity to cisplatin treatment. This study aimed to investigate the effects of XRCC1 Arg399Gln and Arg194Trp polymorphisms on cell viability, apoptosis

XRCC1 deficiency drives telomeric chromatin leakage, inflammatory signalling and senescence

open access: yesRedox Biology
Genome integrity is constantly challenged by oxidative DNA damage, which, if left unrepaired, can result in replication stress, chromosomal instability, and tumorigenesis.
