Targeted Superior Vena Cava Isolation Combined With Pulmonary Vein Isolation Versus Pulmonary Vein Isolation Alone Using Cryoballoon Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 9, September 2026.
Cryoballoon‐based targeted superior vena cava isolation (SVCI) added to pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) improved 12‐month freedom from atrial tachyarrhythmia compared with PVI alone (90.9% vs. 76.4%, p = 0.037) without increasing complications, supporting systematic SVC trigger assessment in atrial fibrillation ablation. ABSTRACT Background The superior

Crosstalk Between Cortical Plasticity and Peripheral Nervous Injury: Insights, Mechanisms, and Future Directions

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 9, September 2026.
Peripheral nerve injury induces dynamic cortical plasticity, driven by molecular mechanisms such as BDNF and neurotransmitter systems. This review synthesizes subtype‐specific plasticity patterns: compressive injuries trigger rapid reorganization, while metabolic neuropathies lead to maladaptive changes.

Dynamic Global and Local Enhancement of Theta‐Band Functional Networks as Neural Markers of Spinal Cord Stimulation Efficacy in Disorders of Consciousness

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 9, September 2026.
To address the critical challenge of lacking objective prognostic neural markers for evaluating long‐term efficacy of spinal cord stimulation (SCS) in disorders of consciousness (DoC), this study proposed an EEG‐based dynamic functional connectivity (dFC) framework, uncovering SCS‐induced transient neural reorganization through higher‐order feature ...

Oligodendrocyte‐Targeted SGK1.1 Inhibition Alleviates White Matter Injury and Cognitive Impairment in Alzheimer's Disease via Modulation of HDAC2 Phosphorylation

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 9, September 2026.
We found an early Sgk1.1 mRNA upregulation within oligodendrocyte‐lineage cells of 5 × FAD mice, implicating SGK1.1 signaling as an early driver of myelin pathology. Mechanistically, SGK1.1 promotes HDAC2 phosphorylation at S422/S424, thereby impairing oligodendrocyte maturation.

Multiomics analyses revealed the roles of the epithelial–mesenchymal transition and novel early candidate diagnostic biomarkers in neonatal necrotising enterocolitis

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 9, September 2026.
In infants with necrotising enterocolitis (NEC), excessive inflammation and epithelial cell death promote the epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT), leading to damage to intestinal barriers and the translocation of bacteria and toxins. In addition, inflamed epithelia release cytokines to strengthen the inflammatory response.

Microglia and neuroinflammation: An in‐depth analysis from functional diversity to disease mechanisms

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 9, September 2026.
1. Microglial functions arise from dynamic, context‐dependent programs rather than fixed M1/M2 phenotypes. 2. Inflammatory, interferon‐responsive, phagocytic/lipid‐metabolic and repair‐associated programs coexist across disease stages and brain regions. 3.
