Xylo-oligosaccharides and Ethanol Production from Liquid Hot Water Hydrolysate of Sugarcane Bagasse

open access: yesBioResources, 2014
With the objective of maximizing the use of liquid hot water hydrolysate of sugarcane bagasse, xylo-oligosaccharides and ethanol were respectively produced by the methods of purification and microbial fermentation.

Fed-batch enzymatic hydrolysis of alkaline organosolv-pretreated corn stover facilitating high concentrations and yields of fermentable sugars for microbial lipid production

open access: yesBiotechnology for Biofuels, 2020
Background Lignocellulosic biomass has been commonly regarded as a potential feedstock for the production of biofuels and biochemicals. High sugar yields and the complete bioconversion of all the lignocellulosic sugars into valuable products are ...

Prebiotic Xylo-Oligosaccharides Ameliorate High-Fat-Diet-Induced Hepatic Steatosis in Rats. [PDF]

open access: yesNutrients, 2020
Understanding the importance of the gut microbiota (GM) in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has raised the hope for therapeutic microbes. We have shown that high hepatic fat content associated with low abundance of Faecalibacterium prausnitzii in humans and, further, the administration of F. prausnitzii prevented NAFLD in mice.

Identification and Characterization of a Novel Endo-β-1,4-Xylanase from Streptomyces sp. T7 and Its Application in Xylo-Oligosaccharide Production

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
A xylanase-producing strain, identified as Streptomyces sp. T7, was isolated from soil by our lab. The endo-β-1,4-xylanase (xynST7) gene was found in the genome sequence of strain T7, which was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. XynST7 belonged to

Application Study of Xylo-oligosaccharide in Layer Production

open access: yesModern Applied Science, 2008
Xylo-oligosaccharide (XO) is a kind of functional oligosaccharide, a kind of safe and health additive. Because of its unique properties, XO has been used in food, medicine and health care widely. As additives for functional foods, XO impels economy to create a great deal of nutrimental substance and presents prebiotic action.

Catalytic Properties and Partial Amino Acid Sequence of an Actinomycete Endo-(1→4)-β-D-Xylanase from Chainia Species [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
An endo-(l→4)-β-D-xylanase from a cellulase-free Chainia strain was substantially purified and subjected to amino acid sequencing. The first forty N-terminal amino acid residues show high homology with endo-xylanases from Bacillus pumilus, B. subtilis, B.

Shaping the Infant Microbiome With Non-digestible Carbohydrates

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2019
Natural polysaccharides with health benefits are characterized by a large structural diversity and differ in building blocks, linkages, and lengths. They contribute to human health by functioning as anti-adhesives preventing pathogen adhesion, stimulate ...
