Jordan-Schwinger Representations and Factorised Yang-Baxter Operators

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2010
The construction elements of the factorised form of the Yang-Baxter R operator acting on generic representations of q-deformed sl(n+1) are studied. We rely on the iterative construction of such representations by the restricted class of Jordan-Schwinger ...

Bridging Leadership Development and Hip‐Hop Culture: Empowering Black Students Through Culturally Responsive Educational Approaches

open access: yesNew Directions for Student Leadership, Volume 2025, Issue 185, Page 89-95, Spring 2025.
ABSTRACT Hip‐hop music and culture have existed for decades in the United States. Since the 1970s, five critical elements have been defined as parts of hip‐hop culture: the MC (oral), the DJ (aural), graffiti (visual), knowledge (mental), and breakdancing (physical).

Yang-Baxter and the Boost: splitting the difference

open access: yesSciPost Physics, 2021
In this paper we continue our classification of regular solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation using the method based on the spin chain boost operator developed in \cite{deLeeuw:2019zsi}. We provide details on how to find all non-difference form solutions

Accounting Rules and the Labor Market for Accountants

open access: yesJournal of Accounting Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this study, I explore how accounting rules—in particular the restrictiveness of GAAP—have impacted the labor market for accountants. I find that when the rules become more restrictive, there are fewer students majoring in accounting and fewer accountants and auditors overall. The overall number of accounting positions that firms recruit for

Garside Groups and Yang–Baxter Equation [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Algebra, 2010
We establish a one-to-one correspondence between a class of Garside groups admitting a certain presentation and the structure groups of non-degenerate, involutive and braided set-theoretical solutions of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation. We also characterize indecomposable solutions in terms of $Δ$-pure Garside groups.

On the algebraic structure of factorized S-matrices [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
This thesis investigates the algebraic structure of certain quantum field theories in one space and one time dimension. These theories are integrable - essentially, highly constrained and therefore soluble.

3-Hom–Lie Yang–Baxter Equation and 3-Hom–Lie Bialgebras

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
In this paper, we first introduce the notion of a 3-Hom–Lie bialgebra and give an equivalent description of the 3-Hom–Lie bialgebras, the matched pairs and the Manin triples of 3-Hom–Lie algebras.

Catch Me If You Can: The Dynamic Nature of Bias in Machine Learning Applications

open access: yesInformation Systems Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Bias in machine learning (ML) applications represents systematic differences between expected and actual values of the predicted outputs, such that certain individuals or groups are systematically and disproportionately (dis)advantaged. This paper investigates the dynamic nature of bias in ML applications.

Yang-Baxter maps and integrable dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The hierarchy of commuting maps related to a set-theoretical solution of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation (Yang-Baxter map) is introduced. They can be considered as dynamical analogues of the monodromy and/or transfer-matrices.

Some Rank Formulas for the Yang-Baxter Matrix Equation

open access: yes, 2021
Let A be an arbitrary square matrix, then equation AXA =XAX with unknown X is called Yang-Baxter matrix equation. It is difficult to find all the solutions of this equation for any given A.
