Yarn Hairiness Characterization Using Two Orthogonal Directions [PDF]
We demonstrate that one can adequately characterize yarn hairiness by imaging the yarn along a single projection direction using coherent optical processing. A system that simultaneously characterizes the yarn hairiness along two orthogonal projection directions was constructed.

Image processing and analysis algorithms for yarn hairiness determination [PDF]
Yarn hairiness is one of the key parameters influencing fabric quality. In this paper image processing and analysis algorithms developed for an automatic determination of yarn hairiness are presented. The main steps of the proposed algorithms are as follows: image preprocessing, yarn core extraction using graph cut method, yarn segmentation using high ...

Improvement in yarn hairiness by the siro-jet spinning method
Hairiness affects the post-spinning processes and fabric appearance. In order to reduce the yarn hairiness, the present work attempted to design and develop an air nozzle that can be easily attached on to the sirospun spinning system. The system, based on a nozzle attachment to the sirospun spinning system, is named the siro-jet.

RELATIVE IMPORTANCE OF FIBER PROPERTIES AFFECTING YARN HAIRINESS IN SOME EGYPTIAN COTTON VARIETIES [PDF]
undesirable, depending on the application for which the yarn is being used. Hairy yarns provide good heat retention and a softer hand (feel) for finished fabrics, and except for a few special cases, when it is an excessive degree of hairiness, yarn ...

The Influence of a Rotary Compact Groove Cylinder on the Properties of Ring Spun Yarn
Hairiness is a key index for yarn quality as it has a critically negative influence on weaving process. Yarns with less hairiness are highly demanded in textile industry.

Effect of Hairiness on Fabric Colour Characteristics [PDF]
Designing the colour appearance of textiles requires taking into account their surface properties, hairiness among others. The villi protruding on the surface not only affect the quality of textile dyeing, but also largely determine its optical ...

An analogical method for evaluating ring performance based on quality and production parameters
This study was carried out to determine the best ring size for a certain yarn count. In a ring frame with three separate rings of varying sizes, 20s/1 kW yarn was created.

Study on Physical-mechanical Parameters of Ring-, Rotor- and Air-jet-spun Modal and Micro Modal Yarns [PDF]
The main physical-mechanical parameters of modal yarns (unevenness, faults, hairiness and spectrograms) were compared with the parameters of micro modal yarns of the same fineness and end-use.
