The effect of yaw on horizontal axis wind turbine loading and performance [PDF]
The Mod-0 100 kW experimental wind turbine was tested to determine the effects of yaw on rotor power, blade loads and teeter response. The wind turbine was operated for extended periods at yaw angles up to 49 deg to define average or mean response to yaw.

TacEva: A Performance Evaluation Framework for Vision‐Based Tactile Sensors
This work introduces TacEva, a unified framework for evaluating vision‐based tactile sensors. It standardizes intrinsic, performance, and robustness metrics through shared experimental procedures and links them to task‐level requirements in robotic manipulation.

Simulation of wind turbine wake interaction using the vorticity transport model [PDF]
The aerodynamic interactions that can occur within a wind farm can result in the constituent turbines generating a lower power output than would be possible if each of the turbines were operated in isolation.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping autonomous mobile robot navigation beyond classical pipelines. This review analyzes how AI techniques are integrated into core navigation tasks, including path planning and control, localization and mapping, perception, and context‐aware decision‐making. Learning‐based, probabilistic, and soft‐computing methods

М.Д. Пильчиков (1857-1908) [PDF]
The earlier EU-sponsored project MEXICO (model experiments in controlled conditions) provided a huge database for flows past an experimental rotor in standard and yaw conditions.

Abstract Invasive gray squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis) have replaced the native red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) across much of Great Britain over the last century. Several factors have been proposed to underlie this replacement, but here we investigated the potential for dietary competition in which gray squirrels have better feeding performance than ...

Results of free yaw tests of the Mod-O 100 kilowatt wind turbine [PDF]
Tests were conducted on the Mod-O 100 kW experimental wind turbine to provide data on yaw alignment characteristics of a large horizontal axis wind turbine with its yaw restraint removed (i.e., in free yaw).

Abstract Dental microwear texture analysis (DMTA) is widely applied for inferring diet in vertebrates. Besides diet and ingesta properties, factors like wear stage and bite force may affect microwear formation, potentially leading to tooth position‐specific microwear patterns.

Some alternative dynamic design configurations for large horizontal axis WECS [PDF]
The present U.S. development effort toward large horizontal axis WECS concentrates on the configuration with two rigid blades with collective pitch variation and a yaw gear drive.
