Strong Fully Reprocessable Engineered Wood Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Engineering a hyperbranched adhesive with complementary imine‐bond and hydrogen‐bond networks, combining it with wood particles to fabricate the wood composite (WP/HTP) under mild hot‐pressing conditions. The WP/HTP exhibits 100% mechanical strength recovery after three cycles of reprocessing, and the reprocessed modulus of rupture (MOR) and modulus of

Life‐Like Ferrous Oxide Microspheres from Kombucha

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Kombucha bacterial cellulose, sodium alginate, and ferrous nitrate self‐assemble into membrane‐enclosed iron oxide microspheres. These microspheres bud daughter vesicles, sustain 24‐h electrochemical oscillations, and filter theta‐band signals.

Synergistic p53 Pathway Activation Through Sono‐Gene Therapy Induced by Ultrasound‐Triggered Theranostic Mesoporous Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of ultrasound‐mediated ICG/siCD24@MSN‐LCD from nanostructure to synergistic sono‐gene therapy. This nanoplatform targets ASGPR via the LCD shell, which dissociates to release loaded ICG and siCD24. The core mechanism involves ultrasound‐guided sonodynamic therapy by ICG and CD24 knockdown by siCD24, both activating the p53 axis

Self‐Assembly of Organic–Inorganic Copolymers Toward Bio‐Inspired Cementitious Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Organic–inorganic copolymerization of calcium silicate hydrate and thioctic acid produces a self‐organized nanocomposite inspired by the disordered collagen–mineral architecture of trabecular bone. The resulting material combines a compressive strength above 300 MPa with intrinsic physical reprocessibility, retaining over 80% of its strength and energy

High‐Tg Polythioesters From Isomerization Ring‐Opening Polymerization of a Renewable Oxanorbornane‐Fused Thionolactone

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A biobased tricyclic thionolactone undergoes selective isomerization ring‐opening polymerization to yield a high‐molecular‐weight polythioester with an exceptionally high Tg of 171°C, exceeding that of the analogous polyester. The polythioester efficiently depolymerizes through backbiting, while its hydrolysis and methanolysis reveal the critical ...

Engineered Brain‐Targeted Exosomes Delivering FGF1 for Sustained Glycemic Regulation and Multitarget Neurovascular Protection in Diabetic Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Diabetic stroke is characterized by a hyperglycemic and pro‐inflammatory microenvironment that exacerbates neurovascular dysfunction. However, the blood–brain barrier (BBB) remains a formidable obstacle, restricting the delivery of most therapeutic molecules.

Mechanophotochemistry: Lighting up EDA Complexes in the Solid State

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Examples of mechanophotochemical EDA complex‐mediated radical reactions, including a Giese reaction, a C─S cross‐coupling reaction, a phosphorylation reaction, and a sulfonylation reaction are shown to rapidly proceed in air using visible light excitation.

Formulation Optimization and Quality Characteristics Analysis of Low-GI Large-leaf Yellow Tea Rice Cake

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji
To address the high glycemic index (GI) and monotonous flavor of traditional rice cakes, in this study, a low-GI large-leaf yellow tea rice cake was developed using indica rice flour, glutinous rice flour, and large-leaf yellow tea powder, substituting ...

Influence of Ventilation Level during Yellowing on the Quality of Yellow Tea [PDF]

open access: yesShipin Kexue
To investigate the impact of different ventilation levels during the yellowing process on the quality of yellow tea, fresh leaves of the tea cultivars ‘Baiye 1’ and ‘Yingshuang’ were selected and each cultivar was subjected to three yellowing treatments:

Herbal Teas and Thrombocytopenia: A Curious Case of Yellow Dock and Burdock-Induced Thrombocytopenia

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Case Reports in Internal Medicine, 2022
Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is a bleeding disorder characterized by a decreased number of platelets. It is an immune system-mediated condition, with formation of antibodies against a structural platelet antigen. Although the pathogenesis remains elusive, primary disease is idiopathic and comprises 80% of cases.
